The cylinder roll is universally recognized as the absolute core component of industrial roll carding machines, serving as the key functional unit that determines the overall carding quality in modern nonwoven fabric production and traditional textile processing lines. It undertakes the most critical fiber opening, combing, separation and web refining procedures throughout the entire carding workflow, directly influencing fiber neatness, web uniformity, material purity and the final physical performance of finished nonwoven products. A complete cylinder assembly consists of multiple high-precision synchronously rotating roll units, whose outer working surfaces are densely arranged with high-hardness professional comb teeth. These specially designed comb structures firmly capture loose, disordered and intertwined raw fibers delivered by the licker-in roll, systematically straighten chaotic fiber arrangements, and standardize fiber orientation, angle and spatial positioning during high-speed circulation. In addition to regularizing fiber posture, the cylinder roll precisely controls the effective length and fineness of processed fibers, effectively avoiding excessive stretching damage, fiber breakage and irregular fragment separation under continuous mechanical tension. This fundamental protection mechanism ensures stable fiber integrity and lays a solid foundation for consistent, high-quality nonwoven web forming during long-term mass production.
The functional value of the cylinder roll is irreplaceable, as it completes deep fiber refining that preliminary licker-in carding cannot achieve. The licker-in only performs rough primary opening of raw fiber materials and inevitably leaves large quantities of tightly tangled fiber bundles and unseparated fiber clusters. In contrast, the cylinder roll executes full-scale, meticulous secondary carding and deep untangling to thoroughly divide aggregated fiber bundles into individual, independent single fibers. During this intensive combing cycle, harmful short lint, fine dust, tiny impurities and inferior broken fiber fragments mixed in raw materials are fully screened, stripped and removed from the fiber layer, greatly enhancing the cleanliness and purity of the final fiber web. Meanwhile, the continuous reciprocating combing action straightens curled, folded and twisted fibers, promotes sufficient cross-layer fiber mixing, and realizes uniform density distribution across the entire working width. After completing standardized refining and homogenization, the clean, neat and evenly blended fiber layers are steadily transferred to the doffer roll for subsequent fiber stripping, continuous web forming and stable material output.
Our cylinder rolls are integrally manufactured from high-strength premium steel materials, featuring outstanding structural rigidity, excellent surface wear resistance and strong anti-deformation performance. The robust steel body fully adapts to long-duration, high-load and high-speed continuous industrial operation, effectively resisting mechanical fatigue, surface abrasion and structural distortion after thousands of working hours. The product series provides two widely adopted standard dimensional specifications: φ1230mm and φ1500mm, compatible with most mainstream standard carding machine models for nonwoven and textile production. Meanwhile, we support fully customized diameter, working length and structural parameters to meet personalized processing requirements of different fiber materials and production line configurations.
Each finished cylinder roll undergoes precise finishing machining and strict dynamic calibration. The rotational runout is rigorously controlled within 10μm to 20μm, ensuring ultra-stable, vibration-free high-speed rotation. The ultra-tight mechanical tolerance maintains consistent carding gaps across the full roll surface, eliminating uneven combing, local fiber sparseness, dense fiber accumulation and other common defects, and effectively stabilizing the thickness uniformity and surface flatness of nonwoven fiber webs.
Cooperating precisely with licker-in and doffer rolls, this high-precision steel cylinder roll builds a complete, efficient and stable fiber carding circulation system. It significantly resolves typical production pain points including tangled fibers, high impurity content, poor fiber mixing uniformity and unstable web forming quality. Ideal for high-standard nonwoven and textile manufacturing scenarios requiring low defect rates and high consistency, the cylinder roll delivers durable and reliable long-term carding performance, greatly improves overall production efficiency, and effectively reduces raw material waste and daily equipment maintenance costs for manufacturers.
