Nonwoven fabric manufacturing relies heavily on rapid, uniform cooling to fix internal fiber structures, maintain flat finished surfaces and eliminate various surface defects that damage product grades. Traditional ordinary water cooling rolls have a fatal structural shortcoming: a massive temperature gap exists between the roll’s central working area and both shaft ends. The central zone cools far below the ambient dew point, forming dense water condensation on the roll surface. These dew droplets adhere to hot newly formed nonwoven webs, leaving stubborn water stains, uneven fiber solidification and a large volume of defective waste. Our non-condensation cooling roll, also commonly called cold roll or water chill roll, serves as a high-performance quick cooling, casting and shaping core component specially optimized for nonwoven, plastic and textile production lines, completely solving the long-standing condensation industry pain point through proprietary temperature equalization heat conduction technology.
Its exclusive internal heat balance structure rapidly transfers excess heat absorbed by the central working surface toward the two roll shaft ends at the same time, bringing two prominent production advantages simultaneously. For one thing, it widens the temperature difference between hot freshly extruded materials and the roll contact surface, greatly boosting overall heat exchange efficiency and allowing factories to safely increase the maximum running speed of the whole production line. For another, it only generates a tiny mild temperature gradient between the roll middle and terminal ends, keeping the entire barrel surface temperature stably above the dew point threshold at all times, so no water dew can gather on the roll exterior during continuous operation. This dual design advantage effectively lifts daily production capacity while drastically cutting scrap rates caused by condensation stains, significantly upgrading the surface appearance consistency of finished nonwoven materials and raising overall factory output value.
The roll is built from carefully selected premium raw materials, including high-grade 20# seamless steel pipes, 45# carbon steel pipes and high-strength alloy steel pipes, which guarantee stable structural rigidity and long service life under long-term continuous cooling cycles. Two mature internal water flow channel designs are provided for customers to choose from: spiral inner tank circulating runners and two or three-layer multi-casing Z-shaped flow channel structures, both of which distribute cooling water evenly inside the roll barrel to eliminate localized overcooling dead zones. Every roll follows a complete standardized precision processing workflow: advanced thermal tempering treatment, fine inner wall turning to ensure uniform wall thickness and minimal cooling temperature deviation, interference hot sleeve welding, full stress relief, quenching hardening, preliminary precision grinding, thick hard chrome electroplating, and final ultra-fine mirror polishing with imported American 3M precision abrasives.
Extremely strict precision control standards are enforced for all finished rolls. The full-width roll surface cooling temperature difference is strictly limited within ±1℃; thermal deformation after long-hour continuous operation is controlled below 0.01mm; core geometric tolerances such as straightness, total indicated runout and coaxiality are locked under 0.005mm. The electroplated hard chrome surface reaches a hardness of HRC65 or higher, with ultra-smooth surface roughness Ra0.01 that corresponds to smoothness level 14, effectively preventing scratches and fiber pulling on delicate thin nonwoven webs.
